Happy Saturday! I hope you all are having a great weekend so far! I want to apologize for not posting a DIY yesterday- this week has been incredibly busy with coming back from Las Vegas on Monday, with the holiday mid-week AND then with the giveaway post on Tuesday (MAKE SURE YOU ENTER!!)---everything just seemed to be thrown off track. I promise that next week, I will be back to my M/W/F posting schedule! ;)
For this week's DIY, I again turned to Honestly, WTF for inspiration. I have been wanting a pair of studded shoes, but the thought of actually studding them just seemed so laborious. When I saw that Honestly, WTF had used E-6000 to glue on rivets instead of inserting them, I decided to give it a try as well! Are you guys ready to try?
What you will need for this DIY: a pair of sneakers. I got mine at Forever 21 for $6. Really, I did. You'll also need cone rivets. There are a ton of options on Etsy. I purchased 9mm for mine, but you can use any size. Lastly, you will need adhesive, and the best to use for this is E-6000, which can be purchased at Michael's or any craft store.
OK, so let's begin!

I purchased 9mm for mine, but you can use any size. Lastly, you will need adhesive, and the best to use for this is E-6000, which can be purchased at Michael's or any craft store.
OK, so let's begin!
1. Gather your materials.
2. Place a small amount of E-6000 around the back side of the rivet, and place it onto the shoe. Hold it on briefly for a second, and you should be good to go!
3. Repeat this step, aligning the rivets next to one another.
4. Continue on along the bottom of the shoe until the first row of rivets has been completed.
5. Repeat the same process with the second row.
The second row is complete.
6. Move along to the third row & complete.
7. Keep repeating until all of the rows are filled in.
8. Repeat these steps on the back end of the shoes as well.
9. Let them dry for a few hours and then wear & enjoy!!
What do you guys think of this week's DIY? Will you try it??
Thank you so much for reading and have a great weekend!!!

Oh my god, I love these soo much! Great little tutorial! I agree totally about studding them, I've studded many things before & it is so laborious & you end up with really sore fingers, not fun... gluing them is such a good idea tho! Have you worn them much, how are they holding up with the glue?
ReplyDeleteThanks!! It is really tiring, right? To be honest, I haven't worn them out of the house yet, as I just finished them, but E-6000 is the best glue on earth, so I'm confident they will hold up just fine! :)
DeleteI love ! It's inspiring!
ReplyDeletewow, great DIY, you did an amazing job!
