DIY: Summer Sunglasses- Floral & Pearl Styles

OK, ever since I starting seeing the amazingly beautiful summer sunglass designs from this season's coveted designers, I've been lusting after a pair of ceramic floral ones and pearl-applique ones.  However, I'm not one to spend a hefty amount on sunglasses, especially when I've been known to lose them right after purchasing.  The ideas behind the sunglasses are simple, but the end results look stunning, and I knew that if I went to work, I could create a couple of simple DIY's for summer sunnies.  So, I purchased a few cheap pairs of sunglasses, bought some materials on Etsy, and got to work.  Are you guys ready to begin?

What you will need for this DIY: a cheap pair of sunglasses (I got one pair at Forever 21 for $6 and the other pair at Target for $17.)  You can choose any style you want because this DIY can be done around any frame.  You will also need appliqués such as ceramic flowers and/or flatback pearls (again on Etsy- 2500 options HERE).  I also used E-6000 glue & gem-tac for securing the pieces on to the sunglasses.

So let's begin!

DIY 1: Floral Sunglasses:

1. Gather your materials.

2. Start on one side of the sunglasses and glue your first flower on using adhesive (I used E-6000 for this DIY).

3. Continue along the edge of the frame, gluing on the flowers in a row in any order you like.

4. Continue to glue the flowers until you achieve your desired look.

DIY 2: Pearl Sunglasses:

1. Gather your materials.

2. Find a starting point and begin to glue the pearls side by side.  I used gem-tac for this DIY.  Don't worry if there is extra glue showing when you attach the pearls- it dries clear!

3. Continue gluing the pearls along side by side around the sunglasses.

4. Finish gluing the pearls to achieve the desired effect. (See how I'm wearing them below for the finished product!)

Wear & enjoy!!

What do you guys think?  Will you try it?

Thank you all so much for reading!  Have a great weekend & don't forget to check out my ALL THINGS PEPLUM board that I put together on Pinterest!  Also don't forget to enter my $75 SHOPBOP giftcard giveaway!!!  And lastly, please follow on Bloglovin' so you stay up to date with everything! :)

  3. SO CUTE. I am flipping out. They look really time-consuming but seriously they look so great!! You did an awesome job. Did you have any issues with glue residue?

    1. Thanks! No, there was actually no leftover glue residue! And they weren't time-consuming at all! The floral ones took about 5 minutes and the pearls took about 15! Have fun! :)
