Purple for Beginners

I've seen a lot of other bloggers wear purple so well, and for me it's never been a color that I've been into (well, except for that time in 3rd grade when purple was my favorite color).  But everytime I see someone pull off a rich shade of purple, I always think that I need to add some into my wardrobe.  When I was doing some closet cleaning the other day, these shorts just happened to fall out (it's amazing what you forget you have!).  Apparently, I purchased them sometime ago at a really good sale price, and they are a light purple so I decided to give them a try.  I have to ease into this purple thing, you know?  With these shorts, I paired a leopard-print top and chunky woven heels.  What do you guys think of my pairing?
