The Marni Alternative

Yes, I totally realize that the Marni for H&M collab was well over a year ago, but I don't find any shame in wearing pieces I love over & over.  When I walked out of the house yesterday, my husband asked if I was wearing a muumuu.  After I rolled my eyes and giggled at his silly question, I immediately thought about Marni's whole aesthetic: the pieces are really designed for the woman who is dressing for the other woman, not the man- this is, in fact, the Marni alternative.

Do you have any pieces of clothing that your significant other is confused by?  (I can promise that my husband finds 99% of my wardrobe confusing! :)

  8. hahah your husband is hilarious, I love these little stories. I think you look great, dressing for men is overrated anyway. Yesterday I left the house wearing a bright yellow midi pencil skirt with a slit at the front and hubby could not stop laughing. I'm talking seriously rolling on the floor laughing, he asked me if they were fishermen's pants.

  9. I think that the outfit is super cute, but yes, my boyfriend does not understand most of women's fashion. Besides, if we were dressing for men, we'd be wearing lingerie the whole time, and that is definitely NOT happening! :)

  10. I love this dress on you! And I'm loving the socks with those shoes, SO stylish Allison! Haha, my husband used to not understand most women's fashion trends, but since I started my blog and started talking trends and the things I love, he likes to pretend he knows it all. When he comments on my clothes, he's half making fun of me and half pretending he's cool. He'll say random comments like "ohh, I love your peplum top, did you know that peplum is really in this year?" or things like "oh I see you are mixing patterns today, that is so IN".. haha. I just roll my eyes. :)

  15. hmm, I guess I may have a few pieces like that.. but mostly my fiance loves the stuff I'm wearing and I ask for his opinion when we're shopping together. he's always honest, even if I don't like the honesty :P
anyway, the pattern of your dress is a really nice one and I think it goes superbly with all those vintage pieces of jewellery and your unique sunnies.

  18. You look great and I personally believe women really dress for ourselves most of the times.
Most men just don't actually understand for instance why we bother wear heels since we will got blisters and so many other examples.
